Abstract

The article presents a theoretical background of the case study method. The author refers to her own experiences in the research and the practices connected with the supervising the diploma works and the Master’s theses. The author acquaints with issues of the selected works and focuses on the advantages and disadvantages of the choice of relationship between the graduate and the respondent. The observations of the author relate to the ethical standards within the biographical research. The examples presented involve the research within the special education.
