The work ‘De universali vocatione ad sanctitatem in Eccelsia (KK 39-42) in Polish post-conciliar ecclesiology’ comprises an attempt to answer the question of how the assimilation and interpretation of this conciliar doctrine has been achieved in Polish scholarly reflection about the Church. Therefore, this dissertation aims at presenting the issue of universal call to holiness in the context and on the basis of ecclesiological reflection, since that is what the intuition arising from Dogmatic Constitution on the Church Lumen gentium appears to be. Thus, it is an attempt to present the matter of holiness not from a spiritual theology perspective but precisely from dogmatic theology perspective that is a systematic reflection on Revelation. At the same time it is a recollection of a place for this issue in systematic theology, i.e. ecclesiology. It is also a matter of answering the question why a man can be saint in the Church and likewise why the Church can lead a man to holiness. The first chapter of the dissertation outlines the historical background of the development of ecclesiology in the context of de universali vocatione ad sanctitatem in Ecclesia. Thereafter, conciliar sketch of editing of Dogmatic Constitution on the Church Lumen gentium and its brief characteristics has been presented, which has allowed for depicting certain maturation of conciliar theology and in this connection the context of the appearance of its chapter V (On universal call to holiness in the Church). The last subsection introduces the latter documents of Magisterium where the subject-matter of de universali vocatione has been raised and developed, and which Polish theologians have referred to most frequently. The second chapter is an attempt to depict the ecclesiological systematic reflection of these elements which in Polish ecclesiology pointed to the idea of the universal call to holiness. Hence, the first subsection refers to methodological and hermeneutical matters and the next one presents the supernatural source and character of Ecclesia. The last part of this chapter portrays the Church as sacrament, People of God and community, as these are dimensions which constitute the instrument of economy of salvation allowing a man to share the life of God. The third chapter is a chronological analysis of Polish post-conciliar ecclesiology. It aims at presenting certain dependency between the formation of systematic reflection on the Church with the reception of conciliar teaching, and the appearance and interpretation of the idea of the universal call to holiness. This chapter has been divided into four parts. Three of them are subsections that have been titled with timeframes (1965-1985; 1986-2000, 2001-2015) and they refer to the events of universal Church life which gave new impulse for the ecclesiological thought (1985 r. – Second Extraordinary Synod of Bishops, 2001 – letter of pope John Paul II Novo millenio ineunte for the end of the Jubilee Year). The last subsection is an attempt to characterise the post-conciliar development direction of the Polish ecclesiology in the context of universal call to holiness. The last chapter of this work is, on the one hand, an outline of existential perspective in the context of a man’s way to holiness in Church and, on the other hand, an indication of several pastoral conclusions and present challenges of parish ministry. Consideration of both these dimensions allows for specification of certain items resulting from the previous analyses in this work which aim at referring de universali vocatione ad sanctiatem in Ecclesia issue to life of a particular believer as well as to pastoral activities.pl_PL
