Między empirią a transcendencją : koncepcja poznania w wierszu Stanisława Barańczaka pt. "Poręcz"

Abstract

The article is an interpretation of Poręcz, a poem by S. Barańczak. Barańczak was classified by A. van Nieukerken as a representative of a metaphysical current of the ironic conceptism type, whereas the poem was considered by the author as a realization of such a creative attitude. What is analysed is the concept based on linguistic ambiguity determining two aspects of man’s condition. The first of them is connected to a sensual experience and refers to phylosophical concepts by I. Kant. The other relates to a perspective o f transcendence, and through intertextual reference to Lousanna lyrics by Mickiewicz, quotes a Romantic theory of cognition by means of water reflection described in works by M. Maciejewski and I. Opacki. Both aspects, as the author shows, are reflected in the genre form of villanelli, revealing metaphysical issues in the final part of the poem.
