Źródła bibliologiczne w Archiwum Głównym Akt Dawnych w Warszawie : (wybrane przykłady z Archiwum Radziwiłłów)

Abstract

The article presents selected objects from the Central Archive of Historical Records in Warsaw. The author chose 17th century sources of Radziwiłł Archive, inscribed in the international list of the program Memory of the World by the UNESCO Polish Committee. The sources contain bibliological elements: book inventories, library registers, documents confirming the process of creation, censorship and the spread of the publication. Unpublished acts from protestant synods are a vital source that facilitates the reconstruction of the existence of the books in Lithuanian protestants environment. The mentions of Church censorship can be found also in the correspondence of the time (for instance, in the presented letter of Samuel Bolestraszycki to prince Krzysztof Radziwiłł). In silva rerum coming from the Branicki Collection in Sucha (S-38-M) there is preserved an interesting manuscript dedication to the king Sigismund III, which was about to open the edition of the Gdańsk Bible. After the death of the king, the receiver was changed and the translation of The Scriptures assigned to Vladislav IV. As a consequence, the inscription in the silva rerum is an important document in the investigation of the genesis of this Bible.
