Abstract

The Commission for the Polish-Czech and Polish-Slovakian Relationships with its seat in Cieszyn (currently next to the Faculty of Ethnology and Sciences of Education) was appointed in 1992, from the initiative of an academic circle centred around the branch of the University of Silesia. Its activity permanently inscribed into the functioning of the branch, and, later on, two faculties of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. The research area searched for by the Commission always agreed with its academic profile (the issue of the Polish-Czech and Polish-Slovakian relationships). Also, the Commission has always been open for a dialogue beyond borders.
