Abstract

The purpose of this article is to present the Association of the University of the Third Age in Makow Podhalanski as a significant institution for the development of the elderly. An article will address issues such as: the activation of the seniors, the role and tasks of the Universities of the Third Age, qualities of institution. The article described the activities and functioning of UTA as an example of good practice-associating elderly, initiating and inspiring local environment to act on behalf of the “third age” and creating a positive image of old age as a dignified life stage.
