Abstract: The purpose of this article is an attempt to answer the question of what media image of expert witnesses is created in Poland nowadays. Next step is the determination of consequences of the media image obtained from authors’ research. A lot of outcomes of empirical researches prove that the media affects its audience and creates social opinions. Politicians are in the reelection business and often create law to meet the social expectations only. It may cause the impact of the media on governing body’s decisions on expert witnesses too. The authors’ research includes opinions of witness experts formulated in different sorts of media: television, press and the Internet. It concerns period of six months in the year 2018. Hundreds opinions were taken into consideration. In this way the current media image of expert witnesses was established and discussed.
