Abstract: The prematurely departed Professor Stefan Zabłocki (1932—2001), a disciple of Jerzy Krókowski, was a representative of the generation that after the Second World War created the Neo-Latin studies in Poland, set the standards of research concerning Modern Latin writing and engaged in the activities of the academic world. The present volume offers a collection of both published and unpublished works of Zabłocki written over the period of thirty years — from the mid-1960s to the mid-1990s — their reference bibliography is consequently current of the time of their writing. Most of the unpublished studies were originally conference papers or lectures. The collection includes the following studies: “Ovid as the Last Poet of the Augustan Age”, “Renaissance Humanism as Another Rebirth of the Antiquity”, “Neo-Latin Literature and Modern European Literatures”, “Selected Problems with Editing Polish- Latin Authors”, “The Place of Classical Philology in the Education of a Humanist and Editor”, “Classical Rhetoric and Mannerist Rhetoric”, “Debates Concerning 16th Century Rhetoric and the Works of Mikołaj Rej”, “Two Examples of Poetic Summatio in the Works of Wacław Potocki”, “Medieval Traditions of Scientific Latin of the Renaissance”, “Medieval Treatises on Versification and 18th Century Jesuit Education in Poland”, “Bucolic Poetry of Grzegorz from Sambor”, “Poetics of Renaissance Epicedium”, “Some Remarks on the Reception of the Blessed Wincenty Kadłubek in Poland in the 18th Century”, “Mickiewicz and the Neo-Hellenism”.
