Abstract

Information growth and development of information and communication technology have made users store more and more fragmented information. Users store hundreds of gigabytes of data in various formats on hard disks, memory sticks, music players, digital cameras and mobile phones. If the user wants to make a full use of the information stored, he needs to employ special methods and tools for organizing and retrieving it. The paper discusses the problems users have to face while storing, processing and retrieving personal information and presents developments for managing it in an effective way.
