O niektórych tropach analizy antropologicznej twórczości Andrzeja Kuśniewicza

Abstract

The author tries to explain why she proposes to interpret Andrzej Kusniewicz’s output from the point of view of the anthropology of literature. A point of departure for signalising certain tropes of anthropological analysis was the reflection on changes in the reception and estimation of the literary works under analysis. On the one hand, the localization of the writer by the researchers within the Galician (borderland) current resulted in significant elaborations, but it also provoked this literature to be pigeonholed, on the other. Therefore, it seems necessary to search for the tools which would allow one to pose new questions concerning Kusniewicz’s literary works and, simultaneously, would be able to convince the recipient about their topicality or outdatedness. Anthropology of literature appears to be a useful tool when accomplishing the task mentioned above. An attempt at interpreting this output from such a perspective indicates paying more attention to its cultural context, thorough recognition of the elements composing artistic visions, and the precise description of characteristics determining the Galician or European nature of Eroica's author’s books. The anthropological reliability of the output under consideration arises from the biographical relations and the author’s anthropological sensitivity (acute powers of observation, the ability to use sources effectively and so on). The recognition of the cultural context determines a convenient starting point for further analytical-interpretative analysis. Kuśniewicz was fascinated by the process of passing. As a consequence, he concentrates on the epoch’s decadent moments, crucial historical events and critical situations in individuals’ lives. The characters are striving to achieve self-knowledge, reach their self-awareness, they are searching for the roots of their identities. Kusniewicz’s books are characterized by the anthropology of diversity, transition and transformation, briefly speaking - the dynamics allowing to capture a critical look from the perspective of anthropology of literature.
