"Rozmowa albo dialog..." - wykorzystanie modelu ustnej komunikacji w literaturze XVI i XVII wieku

Abstract

The article raises the problem of the functioning of a dialogue as a separate literary genre that was especially popular in Polish literature of 16th to the end of 17th century. The genre model of literary dialogue was based on a model adopted from oral communication model - a conversation of usually two people, which manifests in a division of the whole text to rejoinders that are formally and content connected. Reduction of situational context to minimum, stillness of characters, and the lack of plot in this connection makes literary dialogues significantly differ from drama, i.e. they remain texts meant for reading. Current poetics and style models influenced dialogue as a literary genre. It was 16lh century when the evolution of this form in many directions was observed - i.e. drama, narrative, and commentary genres. A significant transformation of the genre model took place at the end of the 17th century, when narrative elements - both in a shape of a story included in a rejoinder, and in a form of narrative commentary that surrounded the text of a dialogue - started to dominate.
