Abstrakt: | The work is devoted to the analysis of the guitar works composed by Józef Świder,
a famous Polish composer.
Within the analytical area, apart from the formal analysis conducted at the elementary
level, a specialist aspect of instrumental performance was given particular emphasis.
It was the aim of the author of this work as an active artist giving concerts. The work
comprises over 100 note examples presenting the analyses of the performance variants
of important fragments of the progress of the music score text of each composition, and
analyses their tonal effects. It recommends effective variants — practised by the author
of the work during concerts and studio recordings. The author of the work was the first
performer of the most important (according to the composer) guitar compositions: Concerto
per chitarra e quartette (quintette) d’archi and Śpiewy mszalne [Mass songs].
All of the compositions were released in the CD format entitled Tomasz Spaliński gra
utwory gitarowe Józefa Świdra [Tomasz Spaliński plays Józef Świder's guitar compositions],
published in 2004 by The Institute of Music at the Artistic Department of the
University of Silesia. During the preparation stage preceding the recording of the material,
the author consulted the composer many times, receiving a wide range of valuable information
concerning interpretation and tone of his works.
The publication also involves pieces of important biographical information concerning
the composer, starting from the early years of his youth to the present day, and a recording
of the interview with Józef Świder conducted in July 2005, as well as a catalogue
of his works of art. |
