Ogrody masońskie XVIII i XIX-wiecznej Europy – tajemnica zapisana w krajobrazie

Abstract

The cultural landscapes of masonic gardens in Europe and in Poland are significant part of cultural heritage. The gar-dens were places of meetings, discussions, rituals, concerts and relaxation. They were reflections of Eden. In the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, when women gained the opportunity to participate in the work and life of Masonic lodges, thus gaining the right to act in public space, they often became garden creators, creating a my-thical Arcadia, a reflection of paradise. During the partitions in Poland, they became places where patrio-tism was cultivated.
