Propozycja mapy krajobrazów kulturowych Polski : ujęcie funkcjonalne w ocenie krytycznej

Abstract

The article continues the subject matter taken up in the first article of this volume. The aim of this paper is to submit for discussion one of several possible examples of methodological solutions for developing maps of cultur-al landscapes. The suggestion is based on the assumption that there is a deterministic relation between elements of the natural environment and functional types of the landscape and thus, they are, to some extent, a represen-tation (reflection) of evolutional stages. What was considered the major criterion for distinguishing landscapes was functional variety of cultural landscapes of Poland and subsequent specific management (structural diversi-ty). The notion of landscape function refers to the whole of conditions (including particular spatial arrangement and investment) typical of a given subtype of cultural landscape for serving a particular human activity or meet-ing man’s needs. The paper presents several analytical maps (map of land use, settlement, religious and tourist objects) and a suggestion for a synthetic map of cultural landscapes of Poland.
