Abstrakt: The research was conducted in the catchment and geosystem of the dam reservoir Przeczyce. Its aim was to determine the impact of the reservoir on fluvial transport of contaminants. The flow of river water through the reservoir results in increased values of BOD5, and increased, less or more significantly, concentrations of N-NH4, N-NO2, N-NO3, Ca, Mg, Fe, SO4 and PO4. The initial stage of the research of the reservoir showed accumulation of substances (positive balance of loads), while three (and more) years later river waters below the reservoir were reported to include higher loads of substances in comparison with inflowing waters. The reservoir showed the poorest accumulating capacities in case of organic substances, Ca, Mg and SO4. Nitrogen compounds were accumulated to a lower extent, iron compounds to a higher degree, while phosphates were accumulated the most efficiently and throughout the whole research period. The impact of the reservoir on transport of contaminants was chemically selective. Accumulation of phosphates and increased organic contamination of outflowing waters suggested that the eutrophication process was on the increase.
