Zarys kształtowania się księgozbioru Biblioteki Fundacji Wiktora hr. Baworowskiego we Lwowie

Abstract

Throughout the 18th and 19th centuries, nobles of the old polish era strived to collect miscellaneous artefacts from the past, which led to their creating impressive collections. Those collections have not been limited solely to hand-written and printed books. Thus, foundation libraries open to the general public were formed. An example of such a library is the Baworovianum, which functioned in Lviv up until the end of World War II. This article’s objective is to trace the beginnings of this library, and to present the history of the creation of that establishment. A story of the library founder’s life was presented.
