Strategia rozwoju kulturalnego Katowic 2020+

Abstract

Katowice’s Cultural Development Strategy 2020+. Works on the strategy for cultural development of Katowice were initiated by the city’s authorities in January 2010. The paper presents main parts of the final strategy’s document including: assumptions of the strategy for defining the cultural development of Katowice, vision of the cultural development of the city, general goal and domain’s priorities for the cultural development, and specific objectives of the cultural development. The specific objectives formed the basis for identifying courses of measures and undertakings of cultural development of Katowice. In axiology layer the Katowice’s vision of cultural development includes eleven values, i.e.: culture in everyday life, culture as a meeting milieu, education and participation in culture, zones and routs of culture, the city of aesthetic landscape, the city of comfortable public transport system, Katowice as open city, creative Katowice, the city place for young, the city of big events, as well as Katowice and Metropolis in Europe.
