Abstract

The main objectives the authors set in the paper were to determine the role of riverside space in tourist space, and also to present selected examples of the cultural heritage of the riverside space of the Odra Valley. In reference to the those objectives, the authors specified the notions of space (in various aspects), tourist space, riverside space, and cultural heritage. An attempt was made to define the notion of riverside tourist space. The cultural heritage of the Odra Valley was also emphasised. The article ends with conclusions regarding the role of riverside space in tourist space. This part also mentions actions regarding tourism development in the area under discussion.
