Abstrakt: | The scenic text and performances by Iwan Wyrypajew are characterized by precise rhythmic
and sound composition. Writing for the stage, he balances on the boundary of acquiring and
transcending conventional dramatic forms; he uses a suggestive language, combining colloquial and
poetic style; uses refrains and repetitions that deepen the expressive and metaphorical dimension
of the stage communication. The act of presenting a word/text, performed by actors like a musical
score during a concert, is often a compositional dominant of the performance. The actor as a focused speaker, language as a hero, tensions between illusion and reality, the stage as a place of establishing
intimate relations with the audience – these are the factors determining the aesthetics of the theatre
of Wyrypajew. They are used to create in the theatre a reliable picture of human border experiences
connected with illness, addiction or moment of agony. |
