Koncentracja medialna jako zagrożenie dla współczesnej demokracji w perspektywie doświadczeń niemieckich

Abstract

The article is an attempt to characterize the media concentration process in terms of its significance for the modern state and democratic society. The process of media concentration is considered in the study from a theoretical and practical perspective. Adopting this dual research optics allows the author to conduct a multifaceted analysis of the process that threatens the pluralism of opinions and views and the structural diversity of the mass media, which are important factors for the democratic system. The study addresses four main problems, showing the importance of media concentration for the functioning of the media system in the context of the associated risks, as well as the practical aspects of counteracting media concentration in the Federal Republic of Germany, a country which has been a European leader in this field since the 1970s. The text also points out the basic conclusions based on the German experience that have a universal dimension.
