Abstract

This article aims to look at the translator and the translation from the perspective of the translation standard, understood as a standarization document. Therefore, it is a look from the perspective of the translation market, which sees translation in terms of an economic phenomenon. The article discusses the assumtions of standard, its objective and subjective scope od application, requirements for translators and the course of the translation process based on the international standard ISO 17100 nd its predecessor, the European Standard 15038.
