dc.description.abstract | The all novels by Sienkiewicz and the most of his stories can be read as a direct plot or an allegory of seeking a father. Answering the question of the source of the topics of a father's absence in the Sienkiewicz’s work, this paper tries to connect the historical perspective with the psychoanalitycal depitcion. The first, illustrates the experience of the generation - the nation living without his state, and shows, how Sienkiewicz, the author, tries to reply to the devastation of a historical security among readers of his novels. The second, reveals the ambivalence in the Sienkiewicz’s life and work. The empty place after father have to be filled up - by other man, of course. But it also gives women a possibility of an emancypation. The author of the paper describes the forces in Sienkiewicz's plots tend to define, dominate, and control personal and communal life after the death of a father (real or symbolic). | pl_PL |
