Neo-noir jako obszar transkulturowych adaptacji

Abstract

Neo-noir is one of the most expansive contemporary film aesthetics. As a mediator between Western (American, European) and Eastern (Japanese, Korean, Indian) cinematography, it creates place for complicated adaptation strategies. The author of the articles shows neo-noir from two different perspectives. Firstly, she sees neo-noir as a global transcultural phenomenon, a metaphorical place of meetings and negotiations of film conventions and narrative strategies, where American distinctive features of noir aesthetics are adapted to the local needs of film art. Secondly, neo-noir appears as an intermedial phenomenon – comic books (also graphic novels), video games and music videos often combine different elements of noir aesthetics.
