| Abstrakt: | The paper, concerned with challenges of civilization that imprint on the Upper Silesia, consists of four complementary - although asimmetric - parts. They deal, concisely, with ecologic, social, cultural, and political situation of this catastrophic and scansenic like region of both Poland and Europe. It has been indicated as well on directions of unavoidable, and radical, transformations of an economy of the region, its political and social structures. Succesfull transformation of the Upper Silesia seem to contribute to success of the general reform going on in Poland. |
