The main goal of the paper is to report and explain the ongoing process of gentrification in an excluded area Bratislavská Street – Cejl Street in Brno, the Czech Republic. It is a specific study describing the process of gentrification in general on the basis of a specific case. The findings of this study come out of a long-term field survey in the form of regular visits to that area of Brno, carried out from 2008 to 2012. Since 2012 the research has been carried out in form of observation of the area’s environment and the author’s stay in that area.
