Intertextueller polylog uber den dreiteiler "Unsere Mutter, unsere Vater" aus interkultureller Sicht

Abstract

The screening of the war film series “Our mothers, our fathers” by the German and later on, by the Polish television brought about a heated debate and fierce criticism of the film. What caused such a response was a greatly unjust treatment of Polish people, and especially the soldiers of the Home Army, who were pictured as extreme anti-Semites in this film production. The article presents the narration of the media from the German and Polish perspectives, demonstrating the responses to this film, the views expressed by its producers, historians and other commentators. The article evaluates the quality of the debate shown by the media. The text also discusses the reasons for the negative image of Polish people as portrayed in German film productions devoted to the period of the second world war.
