| Abstrakt: | "Th e origin of the Upper Silesian pedagogy and psychology should be sought for in the interwar period. In 1928 the Pedagogical Institute in Katowice was founded, whose activity was concentrated mainly on the education and supplementary education of diff erent specialization teachers. Th e Institute started publishing ‘Chowanna’, its periodical bulletin; this semi-annual journal has been published up till now by the Faculty of Pedagogy and Psychology and it belongs among the oldest pedagogical scientifi c journals in Poland."
