Abstrakt: The purpose of this article is to trace Helena Hoffmann’s illness and establish the personal details of the doctors who helped her in the years from 1928 to 1936. Apart from them, the Sisters of Mary Immaculate performed works of mercy towards her, especially when they assisted her in medical research and supported her in her illness. The narrative, given in the form of a synthesis, is based on the analysis of available archival sources and studies. The author found that Waldemar Kunick, a psychiatrist and neurologist, was taking care of the healthy “Bride of the Cross”. Her disease status was examined by: laryngologist Georg Krischke, head physician Karl Stefan Klein, GP Artur Pusch, neuropathologist, radiologist and electrodiagnostic professor Ludwig Mann, GP Gustav Skrobek, doctor Else Kalinke, radiologist and oncologist professor Paul Lazarus, specialist in tuberculosis treatment and applications diet in surgery professor Adolf Herrmannsdorfer, ophthalmologist Adalbert Richter, laryngologist Mieczysław Karol Stawiński and ophthalmologist Stanisław Mirecki. In total, the author established the names and specializations of twelve doctors.
