Więź człowieka ze środowiskiem naturalnym : rekonstrukcja i interpretacja dorobku naukowego Bogdana Suchodolskiego

Abstract

The article aims at providing answers to several research questions, using the works of Bogdan Suchodolski, a teacher and philosopher: how does Suchodolski perceive the nature, technology and what significance as regards environmental protection does he attribute to education? What, according to Suchodolski, are the primary causes for the degradation of the natural environment? What hinders ecological education most? How to revive among the present-day society such moral attitudes towards the nature as liking, friendship or love? A comprehensive hermeneutical interpretation of Bogdan Suchodolski’s works revealed his views on the relationship between the natural sciences and pedagogics, and on the connection between the state of the natural environment and the quality of the human life. It also proved useful to analyze the antithesis between the Promethean technology and the service technology. As Suchodolski saw it, the role of education was to enable and enhance the common interest in the protection our environment.
