dc.description.abstract | The article recalls a poem by a Jewish poet, Rachel Boymvol, A Stroll. Dedicated to Anna
Akhmatova, it was a response to the second meeting with the Russian poet in 1954. The poem
deals with the issue of anti-Semitism in the USSR, which was slowly waning after Stalin's death.
Boymvol complains about the absence of Yiddish in public space, about the expulsion of Jewish
poetry from the cultural awareness of Russians, and also strikes on a biographical note. Comparing
herself with Akhmatova „the queen of the poem”, Boymvol presents herself as the guardian
of the Jewish word, whose royal lineage has been denied by centuries-old Judeophobic attitudes. | pl_PL |
