Ryszard Gabryś. Utwory chóralne : [nuty]

Abstract

Ryszard Gabryś is an extremely valued figure in both the artistic and scientific community. The composer, whose works are performed in Poland and abroad, is also a music theoretician, pedagogue, co-founder and first director of the Institute of Musical and Artistic Education of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, cultural activist, creator of music festivals, reviewer and promoter of many theses at the University of Silesia and the Academy of Music in Katowice. Choir pieces are a selection of twelve of his scores together with his the thirteenth – musical Motto, intended for choirs of various performance possibilities. These compositions were created between 1969 and 2020 and were prepared on the basis of previously unpublished manuscripts of the artist. The innovative element of this edition are attached notes from the composer on the characteristics of the works and interpretative guidelines for the performers. The whole is complemented by a CD with five works – these are both archival and contemporary recordings.
