Abstract

The issue of unemployment evokes many ethical dilemmas. Acting in accordance with sociallyaccepted rules and norms is not always beneficial for an individual. Behaviours morally unacceptedare, on the other hand, accompanied by existing stereotypes concerning the unemployedand them dealing with difficulties. The main subject of the studies in question was social supportoffered to the unemployed and its influence on their dealing with the issue of unemployment. Theattention was paid to supportive actions analysed from the point of view of their ethical nature.The studies show that a supportive relation gives expected results if both the unemployed and theirsocial environment act in an ethically-desired manner. Support given in a proper way increases theprosperity of the unemployed, as well as motivate them to look for a job.
