Wobec dechrystianizacji : Joseph Ratzinger/Benedykt XVI o zasadach i duchowości nowej ewangelizacji

Abstract

Though predicted for one and a half century, the contemporary crisis of faith takes on form that have not been completely predicted. Aggressive atheism, combined with the „humanism” distilled from religion, creates the so-called societa hybris. In view of this dark evaluation of modern civilization and a gradual process of dechristianization, the Church asks Itself the question concerning Its place and mission. New evangelization, understood – first of all – as a spiritual attitude, appears as a way between two extremes: the definitive rejection of contemporary transformations and their blind acceptance. Joseph Ratzinger/ Benedict XVI stresses the need to enroot all pastoral actions in the personal relationship with Father, as Christ did: he reminds the logic of the grain of mustard seed, the Jesus’s prayer, inseparably accompanying His activity and communion with God (conversion), as a basic content of Christian message.
