Między podwórkiem a światem : o nierozerwalnych więzach pomiędzy mikro- a makroświatem

Abstract

In the article, the author tries to present the functions performed in our lives by “the yard”. She defines it as both, a physical space just outside the walls of the house and a metaphorical space of our memory, of establishing identity and creating relationships with strangers and the external. The author perceives the yard as a kind of inner little homeland. At the same time, she treats it the Internet as “the yard” in a macro version. A place where one is able to travel, stay, and meet people without entering into physical contact. The text is illustrated with photographs by Arkadiusz Gola.
