dc.description.abstract | The COVID-19 pandemic has had an unprecedented impact on the dynamic increase
in the share of people performing their professional duties outside the place where it has been provided
so far. Millions of employees overnight change the traditional model of work, based on direct
contacts with colleagues, to work remotely, most often at home. On the basis of Eurostat research,
the change in the share of people working remotely in 2011–2020 was presented – comparing Poland
to other European Union countries. The article also attempts to show the differences in defining the
terms “telework” and “remote work”. The pandemic prompted the commencement of legislative
work aimed at legal validation of the term “remote work” in Polish legislation. The article presents
the currently consulted provisions relating to “remote work”, which are to be included in the Labor
Code. The text also shows the consequences, advantages and disadvantages of working remotely. | pl_PL |
