Abstract

The article discusses the legitimacy of requirements imposed on nupturients beforemarriage or on those religiously differentiated. In order to receive a diocese bishop’s approvalof such a marriage, several conditions have to be met, among others a declarationof the Catholic party stating they will leave a danger of faith loss aside, anda promise concerning the willingness to do their best to baptize and bring up all childrenfrom a given marriage in the Catholic church. Additionally, Catholic as well asnon-Catholic party have to be instructed on the aims and important qualities of marriagethey need to accept. Subsequent parts present particular levels of threats in retainingthese postulates those religiously differentiated are exposed to. The relevance ofsetting the requirements under investigation was supported by concrete rules and traditionsdiffering from the Catholic ones that could lead to difficulties in building a maritalunity.
