Jak nas widzą studenci? Umiejętności interpersonalne nauczycieli akademickich w opinii studentów

Abstract

The article provides the results from the research done at faculties of mathematics and natural sciences at the University of Silesia on students’ opinions concerning academic teachers’ social skills. The research concerned three areas regarded as most important due to their contribution to effective education, or the ability to motivate, communicate knowledge and assess students. These skills, which in fact are prerequisites for effective teaching, are particularly significant from psychological perspective, for they facilitate good student-tutor relationship, which is as important as disseminating and shaping of factual knowledge. The results presented in the paper, as well as reflection on forming interpersonal relationships in the process of academic education may well aid teachers and serve as suggestions how to improve their skills.
