dc.description.abstract | Folk music repeatedly inspired the imagination of Polish composers throughout the 20th century. The tendency to include folk motifs in artistic music started by Karol Szymanowski was continued by the next few generations of artists. The following paper, starting from Szymanowski’s Harnasie and Pieśni kurpiowskie, discusses selected compositions of Wojciech Kilar, Grażyna Bacewicz and Bolesław Szabelski inspired by folklore
of the Podhale and the Kurpie regions. The beauty of the folk music of these regions and the deep-rooted in it element of nativity became, in the past century, an attractive and significantly meaningful material for the newly composed artistic music. These compositions proved the ongoing inspiration with folk elements. | pl_PL |
