Abstract

The following paper aims to indicate that the enchanting folk song of the Pszczyna region has fascinated numerous collectors. The longstanding tradition of gathering folk materials in Silesia, including the Pszczyna region, resulted in an abundant collection of songs, dances and rites, illustrating its originality. The love for native cultural traditions made the local folk music bands draw on ethnographic sources, which proved how valuable the Pszczynian song was for them. This song played a significant role in preserving the Polish language and customs in the region.
