Abstrakt: | The scheme of research procedures, described in Finger painting — a diagnostic analysis, derives
from the author’s interests in psycho-pedagogic diagnosis, therapy and art therapy for many
years, especially such therapy techniques that make use of artistic means in order to express feelings
and individual experiences of people taking part in such actions. The publication is a monograph
concerning plastic works of adults and can enrich the list of academic publications in this field. It
constitutes a supplement, especially within the scope of painting when using 10 fingers. The aims of
the studies were related to academic, educational, cognitive and pragmatic aspects. The first part of
the book presents the results of diagnostic analyses conducted on the group of 413 people.
They were the intramural and extramural pedagogy students of the University of Silesia. The
studies concerned a series of variables connected with the person of the artist (introversion,
extroversion, emotional disorders, experiences), artistic activeness (the onset time, attitude, resistance,
verbalization). The analysis also covered the plastic works of the participants of classes
focused on painting when using 10 fingers (composition, colours, topic, realism, abstraction, symbolism,
technique of painting). The functions of finger painting were described. Also, the research
findings concerning the choice of a music repertoire for therapeutic purposes were
presented. The work combines the elements of diagnosis and therapy, music and plastic arts, artistic
work and art therapy, education and psychotherapy, theory and practice, knowledge and skills,
children and adults, pedagogues, tutors and teachers. |
