dc.description.abstract | The article puts forward a hypothesis that a poetic book by Wisława Szymborska Any case is
of great importance. The very hypothesis derives from the fact that it is the first book by Wisława
Szymborska in which all works can be read in the context of the title and title poem. The second
argument in favour of the coherence of this book of poems is an important direction to the lan-guage. It is visible in both the linguistic layer, in a clear multiplication of vocabulary referring to
the situation of speech and silence, and the subject-matter itself referring to the issue of communication
and understanding.
In the text entitled, as the whole book of poems, Any case, there is a problem of threatening
understanding in the situaion of communicating by means of the language available in case, that
is in each case. An intertextual reference to the poem by Tadeusz Różewicz The Survivor arrives
at a conclusion on a generation-specific sensitivity to language. In 1947, in a book Faces of Anxiety,
Tadeusz Różewicz, born in 1921, diagnoses language degradation and devaluation. In 1972,
in the book Any case, Wisława Szymborska, born in 1923, rises the issue of language as a tool of
understanding again and sees that it is threatened when it becomes a cliched, fixed and schematic
communication. Hence, such a title of the article. | pl_PL |
