| Abstract: | The article discusses the problem of translating the essays which refer to Slovenian history. It focuses on the translation of Drago Jančar’s book, Terra incognita, published in Poland which was translated by Joanna Pomorska. It reveals the different effects of the translation due to the translator’s choices which result from the limited knowledge of Slovenian history by Polish receivers. |
