| Abstrakt: | The most important significance of gateway cities theory gained works of A. Burghardt (1971) and J. Bird (1977). The theory of gateway cities in the typology of locational paterns it should be arranged among models of both concentration and specialization as well. The most important element of rese-arches, which has been mentioned, is presentation of gateway cities developed in the area of Silesian voivodeship. The de-velopment of gateway cities was described in historical-geographical context. |
