Turystyka w powiecie cieszyńskim

Abstract

Cieszyn district is a very attractive tourist region. Within the 730,2 sq kilometers area one can find natural values both very interesting as well as not encountered in other places accompanied by cultural values of this historical region, called Slask Cieszynski. Among extraordinary places are Vistula’s springs located on the hill-side of Barania Gora, „Kaskady Rodla” in the valley of Biala Wiselka, curative wa-ters in Ustron, the folklore of the highlinders from this region, and the regional cuisine. Due to a well developed trans-portation infrastructure the people from the adjacent big cities and the aglomeration of Katowice are coming to relax or spend their holidyas here. Well developed tourist management in general and accomodation in particular make this area a leader among competing Karpaty districts and thus the future of turism in this region is not a concern. In this paper we present the entire tourist phenomena and the state of the present tourism with its determinants.
