dc.description.abstract	The paper presents the therapeutic functions of novels, stories and poems published in the one of the pre-war diocesan weeklies – “Niedziela” (Sunday) (1926-1939). The author pays attention to the functions of so called good books and newspapers in pastoral work, and above all, to the educational features of literature. The text analyzes the religious and patriotic song lyrics published in the magazine. Polish classical writers (eg. Józef Ignacy Kraszewski, Henryk Sienkiewicz), Catholic writers and amateur artists supported spiritually the readers, comforted them, strengthened their faith, evoked the history and Polish traditions and showed exemplary moral attitudes.	pl_PL
