Abstract

Father Jan Kudera, together with Father Emil Szramek and Konstanty Prus, belonged to the fi rst generation of researchers of the Silesian literary regionalism. The interests of parson from Brzezinka can be divided into four areas: biographies of famous Silesians; the history of the local parishes; the history and functions of religious songs and the history of the regional press. The purpose of the article is to discuss the reviews concerning the Silesian magazines. The author analyzed the book Polish Journalism in Silesia, recognized by researchers of Silesian issues as a pioneering work in this area. Analyzing this work, the author focuses on the circumstances of its creation and the contents and the methods of presentation of the discussed issues. The article also reviews other texts of Father J. Kudera concerning the regional press published in „Odra Voices”.
