Abstract

The protection of library collections includes various security technologies or renovation of books and involves different strategies. There is no doubt that effective conservation actions strengthen the position of traditional library but their organization and equipping is associated with huge costs incurred by the institution or library aimed to save the library collections for future generations. An important part of a well-equipped library and conservation workshop is the use of appropriate research methods to ensure adequate protection of collections.
