dc.description.abstractLocal governance as a mechanism of comanagement in local government can be called as an effective tool to support quality of decisionmaking processes. One of its possible forms is participatory budget, which has been being implemented in Poland for several years. The aim of the article is to analyze the participatory budget on the example of the city of Katowice. The author is determined to verify the impact of this kind of budget on the municipality’s management efficiency. Whether thanks to its application, citizens’ awareness and involvement in local matters develops. The article presents, in addition to public data, the results of author’s own research carried out in one of the city’s districts.pl_PL
