Abstrakt: | The author discusses the infl uence of the European Union common law on the Polish copyright laws. The infl uence became visible after the accession treaty in 1994 when the perspective of Poland joining the European Union structures. The legislator began to introduce new copyright regulations compatible with European Union common law. After joining the EU in 2004, its common law became Polish law and constituted legality with the European common legislation. The legality should appear in the fi eld of regulations following the UE
in regards to primary and secondary law. Dealing with the fi rst of the presented problems, the author draws attention to respecting the freedom of the movement for goods, services, and labour policy, and the anticompetitive agreements. On the other hand, reviewing the second problem, the author discusses the
compatibility of the Polish law within EU directives. The ground rules are compatible but the profound analysis of the copyright in Poland allows to observe much dissimilarity. The differences related with the libraries’ activity are mentioned. |
