Od wychowania plastycznego do edukacji artystycznej : Instytut Sztuki wobec kształcenia artystycznego na uniwersytecie

Abstract

An artistic education can be treated as a specific practical-discursive space, the assumptions, premises and aims of which constitute a starting point for a widely-understood art teaching and comprehension. The article pays our attention to an artistic education in the Institute of Art, in the structure of the Faculties of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn, and, thereby, to the presence of art in the university. The Institute of Art and the Faculty of Art inscribe into the longstanding traditions of education in the Cieszyn region and in the history of the University of Silesia in Cieszyn. This inspiring co-existence of art and science gives hope for a broadening of perspectives of a fuller understanding of oneself and the world.
